Alumni Engagement Specialist- Alumni and Advancement Department

Job Purpose

The Alumni Engagement Specialist plays a key role in fostering strong relationships between the university and its alumni community. The specialist will support the development of alumni marketing materials, execute digital campaigns, and leverage various communication channels to strengthen alumni connections and promote alumni events and programs. This position requires a creative and detail-oriented professional with strong skills in content creation, digital marketing, and social media management.

 

Job Responsibilities

- Assist in developing and implementing targeted marketing strategies to boost alumni engagement and participation in university initiatives.

- Create and distribute alumni-focused marketing materials, including newsletters, flyers, and email campaigns, to keep alumni informed and involved.

- Manage the alumni department’s social media accounts, including content creation, scheduling, and audience engagement.

- Cover and coordinate videography and photography for alumni events, ensuring high-quality visual content.

- Collaborate with alumni internal and external stakeholders to gather relevant content for marketing campaigns and communications.

- Monitor and analyze marketing performance metrics using analytics tools and provide insights for optimization to the related alumni platforms.

- Support the planning and promotion of alumni events, ensuring effective outreach and participation.

- Maintain the alumni department’s marketing calendar, ensuring timely execution of campaigns and communications.

- Stay up to date with marketing trends, social media best practices, and digital communication strategies to enhance alumni outreach.

- Perform any additional tasks assigned by the Line Manager.

 

Job Requirements

Educational Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.

 

Experience:

- At least 2-4 years’ experience in marketing, social media management, or digital communications.

 

Technical Skills

- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.

- Good knowledge of videography and photography including graphic design and video editing.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and social media platforms.

- Knowledge of design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus.

- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
