The Faculty of Arts & Humanities offers 2 postgraduate programmes:

  1. MSc, Clinical Psychology, Dual degree

  2. MA, Comparative Literary & Cultural Studies, Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ»ÆÆ¬ degree

 

MSc, Clinical Psychology, Academic Programme, Dual Degree

 

- Requirements:

BA or BSc degree in Psychology with minimum Grade “C” (Good) from a university accredited by the Supreme Council of Universities, or a Postgraduate diploma in Psychology for those whose graduation grade is lower than C.

 

- The total number of credits for the Programme:

36 credit hours (24 credit hours for courses and 12 for the thesis).

 

- Programme structure:

Duration: 2 Years

Semesters: 4 semesters

The Clinical Psychology programme is offered as a full-time, four-semester programme. In each of the first two semesters, students study four modules with a combined weight of 12 credits (3 credits each) delivered over two 15-week semesters; where week 13 is a revision week, and weeks 14-15 are final assessment weeks at the end of each semester. A typical 3-credit module requires approximately 100 hours of student effort, which usually includes around 24 hours of contact time. The remaining time is required for course work and tutorial completion, self-directed study and assessment. The last two semesters are dedicated to working on the thesis (6 credits each). The total number of credit hours for the whole programme is 36. To consider the circumstances of the postgraduate students, modules can be taught late afternoon and on the weekends.

Requirements:

- BA or BSc degree in English with minimum Grade “C” (Good) from a university accredited by the Supreme Council of Universities.

- 42 credit hours. (21 credit hours for courses and 21 for the thesis).

 

Programme structure:

Semesters: Four semesters

The MA in Comparative Literary & Cultural Studies is a two-year, full-time interdisciplinary programme. The programme requires a total of 42 credits, with 7 modules in the first year with a combined weight of twenty-one credits and the thesis in the second year with a total weight of twenty-one credits. The Programme is divided into four semesters, each with its own set of modules. The first year focuses on laying the foundation for the programme with core modules in research methods, criticism & theory, and discipline-specific subjects. Students also choose elective modules in the second semester. At least three students are required for an elective to be open. In the second year, the third and fourth semesters are dedicated to writing the thesis. In Thesis I, students must write the theoretical framework, methodology and literature review. In Thesis II, students finish the comparative analysis and submit it to the supervisor for approval. Obtaining the M.A. degree requires a minimum of two years and can be extended to a maximum of four years under conditions of recommendation by the supervisor and approval by the relevant Department and Faculty councils. To consider the circumstances of the postgraduate students, modules can be taught late afternoon and on the weekends.
