Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ»ÆƬ TURNS 20!
Dear Journal,
Today, I turned 20!
It feels different: like a new age. Time flies quickly.
It feels like just yesterday I was starting out, a small but hopeful idea brought to life by someone who saw something special in me. I owe everything to him, my founder, Mohamed Farid Khamis.
The picture of him shaking the hands of none other than King Charles is forever in my heart and I can not help but remember him while I blow my 20 candles. His loss in 2020 was a deep loss; It left me deeply saddened.
But then, just like he would have wanted, I found strength. I reinvented myself, with a new President and a new Board of Trustees by my side, guiding me through the next chapter. Together, we embraced a new look, a new identity, and it felt like I was stepping into my own, becoming more than I could have imagined. What started as a new place in the heart of El Sherouk City now become one of the most renowned educational entities in Egypt and the Middle East.
My 20th birthday is a big deal, and tonight, we celebrated on campus. The energy was electric. It wasn’t just about turning 20—it was about celebrating the journey, the challenges, the victories, and the incredible family I’ve built along the way. Right now, I’m home to thousands of bright students who trust me with their education and dreams, spread across my many faculties. Each student and each faculty member, has shaped me into who I am today. From Business, Engineering, and Nursing to Arts, Law, and beyond, we are 12 faculties strong.
Over the years, I’ve achieved so much that I couldn’t have even dreamed of when I was just starting out. Being the first in North Africa to receive QAA accreditation! Hosting the COP Simulation Model! Sometimes it doesn’t even feel real. And yet, here I am, proof that hard work, resilience, and a little reinvention can take you far.
But if I’m being honest, what makes me feel warm and more content inside isn’t just the accolades. It’s the way I’ve been able to give back. Through Hayah Karima and all my community service projects, I’ve been able to touch lives beyond the walls of my campus. Seeing the difference I can make in someone’s life fills me with a sense of purpose that no award or recognition ever could.
And today, on this special day, we celebrated here at home with a grand Distinction Ceremony and a Choir. The campus was alive with joy and excitement. So many people gathered to celebrate me. Looking at them, I felt so proud of what I've become.
So, here I am, 20 years old, and so much has happened. But I know this is only the beginning. There’s so much more ahead—more memories to make, more people to help, more milestones to reach. I can't wait to see what the future holds.
Here’s to the next chapter, with hope, excitement, and so much hope in my heart.
With all my love,
Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ»ÆƬ (20 and Thriving!)
