Professor Mohamed Loutfi Represents our University at the 5th Arab Sustainable Development
Our President and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mohamed Loutfi, participated in the inauguration of the 5th edition of the Arab Sustainable Development Week, which was organised by the League of Arab States in collaboration with the Ministry of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation. The event was held under the patronage of H.E. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and under the supervision of H.E. Ambassador Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the Arab League, and H.E. Professor Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of Planning and Economic Development and Minister of International Cooperation.
Professor Loutfi took part in the panel discussion, “Building a Sustainable Future: Lessons from the National Initiative for Smart Green Projects.” The session featured notable speakers, including H.E. Ambassador Hisham Badr, Assistant Minister of Planning and Economic Development for Strategic Partnerships and Initiatives; H.E. Minister Nada El Agizy, Director of Sustainable Development and International Cooperation at the League of Arab States; Dr. Ibrahim Ali, President of the Friends of the Environment Society; and Ms. Fatima Zahra Abdallah, a representative from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
The session presented the national initiative as a successful model for Arab countries seeking to achieve sustainable development goals and build a more resilient future. It began with a comprehensive overview of the initiative, and experts delivered keynote presentations that focused on the initiative's innovative approach. They also reviewed successful projects under the umbrella of the initiative and highlighted best practices for implementing smart green projects.
