Organised under the patronage of Professor Yehia Bahei-El-Din, Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice President for Research and Enterprise, and supported by the Faculty of Engineering, under the leadership of its Dean, Professor Maguid Hassan, the event brought together prominent experts in agriculture, sustainability, and environmental management.

The event attracted a diverse range of attendees, including government officials, NGOs, agricultural organisations, industry leaders, start-ups, university faculty, and researchers. Its rich programme featured thought-provoking panel discussions, insightful sessions, an exhibition, and valuable networking opportunities. Held under the auspices of the Egyptian Ministry of Environment and the South Sinai Governorate, the event underscored its national significance in shaping sustainable agricultural practices.

Among the distinguished guests were His Excellency Professor Ayman Abou Hadid, Former Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, Professor Momtaz Hegab, Development Consultant to the Secretary-General of the Association of Arab Universities, and Mr. Yasser Abdullah, Assistant Minister of Environment and Acting CEO of the Waste Management Regulatory Authority (WMRA).

The event was part of the Waste to Wealth- Smart & Sustainable Management of Agricultural Waste project, which recently won the prestigious Best Joint Research Project Award from Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd University.
