Special Public Affairs Supervisor- Marketing Communications Department

Job Purpose

Special Public Affairs Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing strategic public affairs initiatives that enhance the university's image and outreach. It strategically leads and oversees public affairs initiatives, ensuring effective communication and engagement with stakeholders & media. Also, it involves managing sensitive or high-profile public relations campaigns, supervising a team of communication professionals, and fostering relationships to maintain the university’s reputation and influence.

 

Job Responsibilities

- Coordinating and planning public affairs events aligned with the university's strategic goals.

- Acting as a liaison between the university and external stakeholders, including governmental and non-governmental entities.

- Facilitating effective communication between the university and its key stakeholders, including government agencies, partners, and the public.

- Supporting in the management of special events where the President/Chair play key roles.

- Overseeing the organization of special events, conferences, and public engagements.

- Supervising and mentoring junior staff within the public affairs team.

- Performing any other duties as may be reasonably assigned by the line manager.

 

Job Requirements

Educational Qualifications

Desired:

- BA in any relevant field. 

Preferable:

- A specialization in Public Relations, Mass Communications or Political Science is a plus.

 

Experience

- Minimum of 5 years.

Technical Skills

- Excellent written and oral communication skills including report writing and copywriting and/or editing skills.

- Ability to communicate and present effectively and professionally with a wide variety of people at all levels.

- Fluent English and High Proficiency in PowerPoint and Word.
