The British University Welcomes its Chancellor:
Professor Sir Magdi Yacoub Visits our Campus
We were honoured to have recently welcomed our University’s Chancellor, Professor Sir Magdi Yacoub, the globally renowned unparalleled heart surgeon and timeless role model, to our campus. He was welcomed by our Chair of the Board of Trustees, Ms. Farida Khamis, and our President and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mohamed Loutfi.
Sir Magdi toured our Faculty of Nursing before paying a visit to our newly inaugurated dental clinics, where the entire staff and student body turned out to give him a warm welcome. Our Vice-Chancellor’s Board also met with Professor Sir Magdi to hear his thoughts on university life, the importance of creativity and allowing a thriving ecosystem for our students to grow.
Before taking his leave, Sir Magdi, Chair Khamis and President Loutfi took a picture with students in front of the “Giving Fudge” bear sculpture, a distinctive art piece, created in collaboration with the Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation and Baccarat, from the Not Toys selection, with a crystal Amor Red, and which was a gift from Chair Khamis in support of our Chancellor’s foundation.
