Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ»ÆƬ has welcomed a distinguished delegation from Libyan higher education and scientific research authorities, alongside representatives from leading Libyan universities, to its campus.
Under the leadership of Professor Mohamed Loutfi, President and Vice-Chancellor, our University organised the Egyptian-Libyan Cooperation Week, supervised by the Strategy Development Office and in collaboration with the Libyan Authority for Scientific Research. The initiative focused on fostering collaboration in higher education, technology, and scientific research between the two nations.
The primary objective of the cooperation week was to expand areas of partnership, particularly in student exchange programmes, educational and training scholarships, as well as research and academic cooperation. These efforts align with Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ»ÆƬ’s strategic objectives while also addressing the key priorities of higher education strategies in both Egypt and Libya.
The event featured a series of symposiums, workshops, meetings, and visits to faculties, academic facilities, and research laboratories. A number of Libyan students accompanied the delegation and had the opportunity to attend excellence programmes implemented by the Libyan side, in addition to Libyan students currently studying at our University.
This collaboration marks a significant milestone in the three-year relationship between Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ»ÆƬ and the Libyan Authority for Scientific Research. It represents a crucial step towards strengthening scientific and educational ties between Egypt and Libya by promoting the exchange of expertise, innovation, and cooperation in student exchange and scientific research. Such initiatives are vital for enriching the educational and research landscape in both nations.
A key highlight of the event was the presentation of our University’s COP Simulation Programme, which has been running for the past three years. A video was showcased covering COP27, COP28, and COP29, followed by presentations from our University’s students, known as COP Simulation Ambassadors, who shared how their participation had positively influenced their academic and personal development. Additionally, students presented insights into their involvement in the Law Moot Court Programme, organised at an international level by Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ»ÆƬ’s Faculty of Law.
