Faculty of Nursing
Programme Overview:
The Faculty of Nursing at Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ»ÆÆ¬ grants Master Programmes in Nursing Science within various specializations according to the credit hours system.
The following academic degrees are conferred:
Academic Master’s Degree:
- Master of Medical-Surgical Nursing.
- Master of Community Health Nursing.
- Master of Psychiatric & Mental Health Nursing.
Professional Master’s Degree:
- Professional Master of Advanced Adult Cardiac Nursing.
Programme Objectives:
- Graduating qualified nurses with skills enabling them to serve the local and international community through advanced specialised nursing care.
- Equipping graduates with the ability to apply scientific research methodologies and adapt to modern trends.
- Enhancing scientific and skills levels and reinforcing innovation capability.
- Mastering professional skills and utilising appropriate modern technological means.
- Creating a distinguished generation of researchers capable of linking scientific research with society.
- Fostering a spirit of teamwork among programme graduates to facilitate communication and collaboration with healthcare team members.
- Equipping students with the ability for continuous self-development in skills, scientific knowledge, and behaviour.
- Enhancing research skills and innovations for use in community development and meeting its needs.
- Preparing specialists in scientific and academic research fields to meet the needs of nursing education.
- Developing scientific and professional competencies capable of using scientific research evidence to enhance nursing practices.
Programme Details:
1- The programme and courses are designed according to the credit hours system.
The credit hour is a unit of academic measurement to determine the weight of each course in one academic semester. The credit hour for any academic course represents 50 minutes of contact time:
- 1 theoretical hour = 1 actual hour
- 1 laboratory hour = 2 actual hours
- 1 practical hour = 3 actual hours
- 1 field hour = 4 actual hours
2- The academic year is divided into study semesters, each lasting 16 weeks, including the final examination period, it is divided into:
a. Autumn semester: starting in the second week of September.
b. Spring semester: starting in the second week of February.
c. A summer semester may be opened with a duration of 8 weeks, upon approval of the Graduate Studies Committee, with a maximum of 9 credit hours.
It is an optional semester, not mandatory, lasting between seven to eight weeks (7-8), with the weekly academic hours allocated to each course being doubled.
3- Nursing practical courses may not be registered in the summer semester.
4- The curriculum may be delivered through distance learning or hybrid learning, which integrates face-to-face learning with distance learning, utilising traditional, electronic methods, and various platforms.
Academic Master’s Degree:
Admission Requirements:
To enrol the Candidate in the Academic Master's degree in Nursing Science, the following conditions must be met:
1- Candidate must hold a Bachelor of Nursing Science (BSc) with at least a "Good" (C) grade in the specialisation from an Egyptian university or an equivalent degree from another recognised scientific institute acknowledged by the Supreme Council of Universities.
2- Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in Nursing Science with an overall "Good" (C) grade from a Nursing Faculty of Egyptian universities or any equivalent degree from another institute recognised by the Supreme Council of Universities and have at least a "Good" grade in the specific specialisation.
3- Graduates with a Postgraduate Diploma in the specialisation with at least a "Good" (C) grade are accepted, and the scientific department may add additional courses for diploma holders to advance towards a Master's degree.
4- The student must have achieved a score of 550 in the international TOEFL or an IELTS score of 6.5, or its equivalent (very good locally).
5- The College Council may cancel registration in a specialization that does not attract a sufficient number of external students (less than 5 students) unless the applicants are members of the college's assisting staff.
6- The student's employer must approve their enrollment for the Master's degree in the chosen specialisation.
7- Admission to study in any specialization is conditional on the approval of the departmental council of the chosen speciality.
8- For teaching assistants, must have practised as a teaching assistant in the college for a full academic year.
9- A student transferring from another university is accepted provided that some of the courses they have studied and successfully completed with at least a "C" grade are among the requirements for obtaining the degree, with the approval of the College Council and based on the recommendation of the department council. The total transferred credit hours should not exceed 30% of the total required credit hours for obtaining the degree and will be included in the cumulative grade point average, so the student does not have to retake those courses.
10- The Faculty may conduct a personal interview for applicants for the Master's degree in Nursing Science, with fees determined according to university regulations.
11- The rules and regulations issued by the Foreign Students Office and the Supreme Council of Universities apply.
Professional Master’s Degree:
Admission Requirements:
1- The candidate for the professional master's must hold a Bachelor of Nursing Science (BSc) or a Bachelor's degree in Nursing from one of the recognised universities/institutes, or an equivalent degree from another institute accredited by the Egyptian Supreme Council of Universities.
2- Candidates must have a minimum of one year of work experience after finishing the internship year (practical training)
3- Admission to study in any specialisation is conditional on the approval of the departmental council of the chosen speciality.
4- The number of students for registration in the professional master's degree is determined based on the recommendation of the departmental council of the chosen area for this specialisation, the postgraduate studies and research committee, and it is approved by the Faculty’s Council.
5- Candidates must submit proof of English language proficiency e.g. The international TOEFL exam with a score of 550 or the international IELTS exam with a score of 6.5.
6- The Faculty’s Council may cancel the registration in any specialization in case a sufficient number of foreign students (fewer than 5 students).
7- Externally Transferring candidates must have received a grade of no less than “C” in any of the covered courses. This is an admission pre-requisite in addition to the approval of the Faculty’s council. The courses should not exceed 30% of the total courses required.
8- The Faculty may conduct personal interviews for prospective students, and the semester tuition fees are determined in accordance with the university's decisions and regulations.

- Original BSc. certificate or Postgraduate diploma certificate.
- Accreditation from the Supreme Council of Universities for Graduates of Academies and Higher Institutes offering BSc. degrees (Not required for University Graduates).
- Accreditation from the Supreme Council of Universities for international degrees.
- Original transcript.
- Original IELTS or TOEFL certificate.
- Original birth certificate.
- A copy of the National ID (for Egyptians) or Passport (for non-Egyptians).
- 4 personal photos (4X6).
- Original certificate of military service (for Egyptian males).
