Decentring the Irish world
Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ»ÆÆ¬ under the auspices of the Chair of the Board of Trustees Mrs. Farida Khamis, Vice-Chancellor and President Prof Mohamed Loutfi, Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice President for Research and Enterprise Prof Yehia Bahei-El-Din and the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities Prof Shadia Fahim welcomed on campus H. E. Ambassador Seán O’Regan, Irish Ambassador to Egypt to take part in the Faculty’ Research Centre for Irish Studies’ international symposium on Global Irish Studies.
Decentring the discipline of Irish studies, has turned all eyes on Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ»ÆÆ¬ and has emphasized the role of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities as a major influencer in shaping the research map for literary and social science scholars both locally and internationally.
As part of the symposium evening functions, a Reception and Poetry Reading concluded the opening day hosted by the Ambassador of Ireland at his residence in Cairo where guests unleashed their creativity by sharing both Irish and Egyptian poetry.
