Our Largest Medical Convoy with Hayah Karima Foundation
Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ»ÆƬ recently had its largest participation in Hayah Karima "Decent Life" initiative since the start of their cooperation. In collaboration with the Hayah Karima Foundation, our University took part in the "Anti Elhayah" - "You are Life" campaign by organising medical and psychological convoys in Gharbeya Governorate. The aim was to enhance the quality of life in underprivileged areas and rural communities in Egypt.
This particular participation stands out as one of the largest joint efforts between the British University in Egypt and Hayah Karima Foundation. Students and professors from various faculties, including Dentistry, Nursing, Pharmacy, and the Psychology Department at the Faculty of Arts joined forces in the convoy. Additionally, student volunteers from the university's Student Union actively contributed to the initiative, providing support to nearly 1000 beneficiaries in just one day.
In addition, the University Student Union, and Student Clubs, under the supervision of the Student Activities Department, provided a range of organisational services: they worked alongside the Handicrafts Department and the Civil Status Sector from the Ministry of Interior, engaging in recreational activities with school children.
The Faculty of Dentistry provided medical services to 700 patients, addressing oral and dental issues, including emergency cases. The Faculty of Nursing rendered various medical aids to village residents, including breast cancer examinations and other necessary treatments for 300 individuals. The Department of Psychology at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities conducted awareness sessions and workshops, with nearly 100 participants. Lastly, the Faculty of Pharmacy organised awareness sessions and workshops on recommended antibiotic dosages, as well as raising awareness of diabetes and high blood pressure.
