President and Vice-Chancellor Mohamed Loutfi Awarded Honourary Doctorate

It is with great pride that we announce the accolade conferred upon our University's President and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mohamed Loutfi. In a momentous ceremony held at the Stadium of Light in Sunderland, Professor Loutfi was honoured with an Honourary Doctorate in Education by the University of Sunderland.

This prestigious recognition is a testament to Professor Loutfi's longstanding association with the University and his illustrious career achievements in the realm of Higher Education. With a career marked by dedication and distinction, Professor Loutfi's journey with the University of Sunderland commenced in 1997, evolving into his pivotal role as Head of International Business Development and Transnational Education. 
 

Notably, Professor Loutfi stands as one of a few individuals in Egypt to be awarded an Honourary Doctorate, a recognition of his contributions to the field of Higher Education. He diligently honed his expertise in the realm of Higher Education, amassing a remarkable 30-year tenure in the field. Professor Loutfi's name has become synonymous with Systems Thinking and the Internationalisation of Higher Education.

During his tenure, Professor Loutfi initiated 12 international educational partnerships that significantly expanded the University's global presence. His visionary leadership left an indelible mark on the institution, solidifying his position as a pioneer in the field.

The Honourary Doctorate was conferred upon Professor Loutfi by Sir David Bell, Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive of the University of Sunderland, in a ceremony attended by friends, colleagues, peers, and family.
