The Faculty of Pharmacy is very proud to announce that Assoc. Prof. Abdullah Gibriel has been awarded the prestigious State Encouragement Award for his excellent scientific contributions in the field of Medical Sciences on Thursday 7th April 2022. This national award is organized and led by the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT) and recognizes only renowned young researchers across Egypt who have made outstanding achievements in this field. The quality of the collective scientific achievements is evaluated by renowned and top ranking scientists specialized in the field and takes into consideration quality of the submitted papers, novelty and originality of research ideas addressing society/community problems. Dr. Gibriel joined Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ»ÆƬ in 2014 and has published 25 peer reviewed research articles in specialized international journals with high impact factor.

Dr. Gibriel’s main research focus is to understand how human cells communicate and cross-talk through complex biological machineries prior to tailoring and offering optimal therapeutic strategies in various diseases. Dr. Gibriel has been looking for reliable, sensitive and specific non-invasive biomarkers for early diagnosis and prognosis of various diseases including HCV associated hepatic disorders and liver carcinoma in adults in addition to hearing loss in children. Dr. Gibriel has significantly participated in developing various therapeutic modalities against several cancer types in colon, breast and liver. Dr. Gibriel has also utilized the latest platforms of next generation sequencing (NGS) approaches to deconvolute genetic heterogeneity and to profile mutational spectrum in hereditary diseases as well.
