Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ»ÆƬ and Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation Sign Memorandum of Understanding

In a progressive move towards advancing cardiac healthcare and education, Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ»ÆƬ and the Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation have signed a Memorandum of Understanding. The signing ceremony took place on our Campus, marking a significant step in fostering collaboration between the academic and practical healthcare sectors.

The primary objective of the MOU is to strengthen the partnership between the two parties, aiming to raise awareness about their community goals and activities. A key component of this collaboration is the launching of two new professional Masters programmes in Advanced Adult Cardiac Nursing Care and Advanced Pediatric Cardiac Nursing Care, into the Faculty of Nursing.

The groundbreaking programme seeks to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and practical skills in cardiac nursing education. By offering specialised training, workshops and sessions in Advanced Cardiac Nursing Care and Advanced Pediatric Cardiac Nursing Care, the initiative aims to enhance the expertise of healthcare professionals, ultimately leading to improved patient outcomes and a higher standard of cardiovascular care.

The MoU is signed by Professor Mohamed Loutfi, the President and Vice-Chancellor of Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ»ÆƬ, and Professor Magdy Ishak, FRCS, CCIM, FRSM, Founder and Chairman of the Board of Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation, and is witnessed by Ms Farida Khamis, Chair of the University’s Board of Trustees, and Professor Sir Magdi Yacoub FRS, OM, Founder and Honorary President of Foundation and Chancellor of Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ»ÆƬ.  This cooperation emphasises the importance of combining academic knowledge with practical experience in the field of cardiac nursing, as our University aims to empower healthcare professionals with the skills and expertise needed to address the evolving challenges in cardiac care.

The Signing Ceremony was attended by our Court Members, Vice-Chancellor's Board, Deans and Staff Members. We were also honoured to welcome the delegates from the Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation, and Ms Lisa Yacoub, daughter of Sir Magdi Yacoub.
