FCMM Launches the First Arab Virtual Roundtable on Media Literacy with UNESCO
The Faculty of Communication and Mass Media [FCMM] hosted on March 31 the first Arab virtual roundtable titled “Media and Information Literacy in the Arab World – MIL – State of Art,” attended by representatives from UNESCO and Arab Media Institutions.
The event was organised by the Faculty’s Research Center and focused on the critical role of media literacy in the digital age and how it became a top priority for UNESCO at both the global and local levels.
The panel discussion included: Mr. Alton Grizzle – UNESCO Programme Specialist, Dr. Naglaa El-Emary – Head of FCMM’s Research Centre, Hania Bitar – Director of the Palestine-based PYALARA organisation, Bayan El Tal – Senior Advisor at the Jordan Media Institute in Amman, and Radhia Saidi – Head of Training and Development at Tunisia’s Haute Autorité Indépendante de Communication Audiovisuelle (HAICA).
