Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ»ÆÆ¬ Hosts Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ»ÆÆ¬ International Student Film Festival
Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ»ÆÆ¬’s Faculty of Communications and Mass Media successfully hosted the first Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ»ÆÆ¬ International Student Film Festival (Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ»ÆÆ¬ISFF), a prestigious event that brought together creative works from student filmmakers across the globe. Under the leadership of Professor Mohamed Shouman, President of Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ»ÆÆ¬ISFF and Dean of the Faculty, the festival showcased 100 short films across five categories, selected from an impressive pool of 1,870 submissions representing 115 countries. This festival provided a platform for young filmmakers to display their talent, creativity, and dedication, offering a glimpse into the future of global cinema.
An esteemed panel of judges, led by renowned Egyptian director Hany Lasheen, was tasked with evaluating the shortlisted films. The judges, each an expert in their respective fields, carefully assessed the 20 films in each category to select the top three finalists. Director Lasheen’s extensive experience ensured a thorough and insightful selection process, aimed at recognising the very best in cinematic storytelling, technical achievement, and artistic innovation.
The Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ»ÆÆ¬ISFF offered attendees the chance to immerse themselves in a variety of international perspectives through the medium of short film, with screenings, discussions, and opportunities to engage with filmmakers and fellow enthusiasts. The festival celebrated the power of film as a universal language, making it an invaluable experience for participants and audiences alike.
