Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ»ÆÆ¬ Wins Best Joint Research Project Award
Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ»ÆÆ¬ has been honoured with the prestigious Best Joint Research Project award, recognising outstanding collaboration between Arab and international universities. The accolade was awarded for the research project ‘Sustainable Rural Agricultural Waste Management: A Roadmap for the Circular Economy and the Living Lab.’
The award was presented at the Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd University Awards Ceremony for Best Scientific Production, held under the auspices of Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States. Our President and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mohamed Loutfi, proudly received the award, which was bestowed by Professor Amr Ezzat Salama, Secretary-General of the Federation of Arab Universities, and Professor Issa Al Ansari, President of Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd University. The event also saw the presence of H.E. Ambassador Dr. Haifa Abu Ghazaleh, Assistant Secretary-General of the League of Arab States and Head of the Social Affairs Sector.
This recognition highlights Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ»ÆÆ¬’s commitment to advancing community development and fostering a more sustainable future, aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Egypt’s Vision 2030. The award-winning project is spearheaded by Dr. Noha Mostafa, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Engineering, with the strategic oversight of Professor Yehia Bahei-El-Din, Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice President for Research and Enterprise. This is the fruitful outcome of a collaborative effort involving Shaqra University in Saudi Arabia, Kasdi Merbah University of Ouargala in Algeria, and the University of Lincoln in the United Kingdom.
The project focuses on innovative strategies for managing rural agricultural waste, promoting a circular economy and establishing living labs to test and refine these strategies in real-world settings. This initiative not only addresses environmental challenges, but also aims to enhance the quality of life in rural communities through sustainable practices.
Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ»ÆÆ¬'s achievement underscores the importance of international collaboration in addressing global challenges and reflects the University's dedication to research excellence and societal impact.
